What is a
Setting Out Engineer ?
A Setting Out Engineer is a person who sets out points or marks sites using a survey tool, also know as EDM or Total Station.
The Setting Out Engineer will provide information on where construction begins on a site and will also check ground levels and excavation levels. We teach you the whole shabang, along with a job.
What does a Setting Out Engineer actually do ?

How much does a Setting Out Engineer get paid?
Due to the importance of Setting Out Engineering, a Setting Out Engineer can get paid a serious amount of money. And as project managers and Site Managers don't know how its done, the salary is a lot more than they earn, here is a quick guild on freelance roles.
- Trainee Setting Out Engineers £30k - £38k
- 6 Months Setting Out Experience £40k
- Up to 2 years setting Out Experience £50k - £60k
- Over 3 years Setting Out Experience £60k - £70k
- Working in Dubai as a Setting Out Engineer Over £100k
Once trained by us we pay up to £35k as a Setting Out Engineer, and with 6 months experience we pay around £40k. The maximum we pay as a Setting Out engineer currently stands at £50k this is due a review shortly. You could reach £50k within 1 year. As we teach you all about Setting Out Engineering we really don't want to let you go, that's why we work extremely hard to find the job you want. There is a serious shortage in the UK for Setting Out Engineers, and a lot of companies do struggle to find a suitable Setting Out Engineer.... that's just another reason why you are paid more than a full time experienced Doctor. Think about how many years a person has spent studying to become a GP. We will teach you all about Setting Out Engineering within a few weeks and getting you a job paid more than a Junior Doctor.

We now have several training centres in the UK, our courses are held on Saturday's for 5 consecutive weeks, at the end of each week you will be tested on what you had learnt the previous week this will add towards your end test, once passed you will receive a Certificate of Competence in Setting Out Engineer and Certificate in understanding of Autocad. You will also receive a brand new laptop with full setting out engineering software and if you then decide you want to work for us we will provide you complete PPE.
If you fail any test you will have the option to retake the test in the area that you have failed in. We aim to help you achieve 100% pass rate, but you must be committed and study hard. Please note due to course demands you will be required to book in advance, all deposit is non-refundable so please make sure you are free for the complete duration of the course, alternative date can be arranged if situations arise.
